Redevelopment of Itchenor Jetty
- Mariners are advised that the Itchenor Jetty in position 50°48.43’N 00°52.00’W is scheduled for redevelopment between 14 October and 4 November, subject to weather. The area of works are as shown in the image below.
2. The project will involve the removal, replacement and extension of the existing visitors jetty at Itchenor. The development will see the jetty extended a further 7m into deeper water, and a 100m jetty head installed to enable overnight, walk ashore berthing.
3. Works will be undertaken by WALCON marine ltd, under a licence issued by the MMO.
4. There will be no access to the Itchenor Jetty between Wednesday 16 and Friday 18 October. Restricted access will be available following this date. Mariners should contact the harbour office to check restrictions.
5. Mariners should not navigate within the area once the pontoon structure is removed due to any unknown underwater obstructions.
6. All vessels involved in the removal and extension will display the lights and shapes required by the collision regulations and maintain a listening watch on VHF channels 14 and 16.
7. Mariners are requested to keep clear of the area of works.
