ENVIRONMENT AGENCY HOVERCRAFT SURVEY
Mariners are advised that the Environment Agency will be carrying out a survey to map the intertidal vegetation and the cover and extent of macro algae and seagrass beds.
- The survey is being undertaken from a 5-metre hovercraft and will cover all parts of the harbour. Due to the operating constraints of the hovercraft it will on occasions exceed the 8-knot speed limit.
- The surveys will be undertaken over 9 days between 7th July and 2nd September. No survey works will be undertaken during the week of 19th – 23rd August (Race Week). Operations will take place between 3- hours before and up to 3-hours after low water.
