Sarah Chatfield has been appointed as CHaPRoN Manager, to lead on the Chichester Harbour Protection & Recovery of Nature (CHaPRoN) partnership initiative. Sarah has worked for Chichester Harbour Conservancy for over 12 years, working originally as part of the Education Team supporting young people.
Sarah joined the Conservancy as a Harbour Teacher before becoming the Education Officer. Prior to this she worked as a Chemistry/Science teacher in secondary schools.
Sarah has lived close to the Harbour for most of her life and enjoyed all the Harbour has to offer. From sailing and windsurfing to walking, cycling, watching the wildlife and crabbing! Her earliest memories are sailing with her grandparents in their Wayfarer from Emsworth Sailing Club in the 1970s. Now her own family enjoys spending recreational time in the Harbour too.
Sarah feels very lucky that Chichester Harbour is both her workplace and playground. She is proud to be working with partners through the CHaPRoN initiative to help drive recovery of the Harbour’s natural environment, and help protect this special place for future generations to come.
